{"id":23,"date":"2019-10-27T08:57:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-27T08:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lesjohnston.allansplace.ca\/?p=23"},"modified":"2023-03-16T19:02:48","modified_gmt":"2023-03-17T02:02:48","slug":"house-sold-estate-not-yet-settled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lesjohnston.allansplace.ca\/index.php\/2019\/10\/27\/house-sold-estate-not-yet-settled\/","title":{"rendered":"house sold, estate not yet settled"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>It is official &#8211; Father&#8217;s house in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/maps\/@49.1838285,-121.789214,3a,90y,174.59h,93.01t\/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sc54MI3AhQLlXNKcTYG7eGw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosedale, BC<\/a> is now sold.\u00a0 The closing date was October 25, 2019.\u00a0 I have taken as much as I want out of the house, shop, and property, and the rest is left to the new owners.<!--more--><\/p>\r\n<p>However, Laura Bowman has now filed suit against the Estate.\u00a0 She expects to be paid $90,000 for looking after Father from when he slipped and fell on the ice until his death, about 16 months, claiming that she is worth $8000 per month.\u00a0 My claims are that, although she did look after him, she did not give that level of care; she left the property in a terrible state; and she had two years of rent-free living at Father&#8217;s property.\u00a0 It is now in negotiations with the lawyers.<\/p>\r\n<p>It is too bad that this has come to pass.\u00a0 I hope and pray that all this will be cleared up soon and that Father&#8217;s legacy will not be remembered with bitterness toward other people.<\/p>\r\n<p>P.S.
