I\u2019m sitting at Angel\u2019s Japanese Restaurant at 2pm having beef udon<\/em> (soup with noodles).\u00a0 I just left Laura at Father\u2019s house and was on my way to see Lou about the two guns.\u00a0 I got a rattle in my gut.\u00a0 I called Lou \u2013 he\u2019s not ready yet \u2013 still babysitting his grandkids.\u00a0 So, lunch at Angel\u2019s.<\/p>\n

I thought I\u2019d fixed Father\u2019s computer.\u00a0 Laura said something was wrong.\u00a0 I put on a couple dozen Windows Updates; no, apparently still doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0 Laura called me.\u00a0 I\u2019ll go back after lunch.<\/p>\n

I get the impression he doesn\u2019t much care about being angry at me anymore.\u00a0 I\u2019m hoping that\u2019s the case and told Laura as much.\u00a0 She said she\u2019d work on him.\u00a0 She\u2019s good at that \u2013 leading him to think one way rather than a different way.\u00a0 I\u2019m counting on that because in Father\u2019s state his mind is not good and he dwells on things too much, concentrates on certain things.<\/p>\n

No, I\u2019m not trying to take his house.\u00a0 How could I?\u00a0 Logistically, legally, and certainly physically not possible.<\/p>\n

No, I\u2019m not trying to put him in a home.\u00a0 What I told him last time I was down was that I wanted a frank, honest, real conversation without things like, \u201cNo f***ing way you\u2019re putting me in no f$$$ing home!\u00a0 Enough of that.\u00a0 Just talk with me.”\u00a0 So he did.\u00a0 I told him that if he sold his house he\u2019d have enough money to pay the $2000 a month or so fees.\u00a0 He\u2019d not be \u201cso doggone lonesome\u201d as he put earlier.\u00a0 He\u2019d meet new old folks, have a bunch of old farts to play cards or pool with, eat with someone (promoting him to actually eat a decent amount).<\/p>\n

If I were trying to take his home, why would I suggest something that would reduce his money?\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t make any sense.\u00a0 I just wanted him to tell me why it was a bad idea.\u00a0 He finally did.\u00a0 He said he didn\u2019t want someone else to have their thumb over him \u2013 someone else in charge of his life.\u00a0 Okay, finally I get an answer.\u00a0 I can respect that.<\/p>\n

But later he thinks that I\u2019m trying to put him in a home.\u00a0 No, you old fart, I was just expecting a real conversation about it, not a knee-jerk old-folks\u2019 reaction.<\/p>\n

In actually fact, most seniors (with the exception perhaps of Ivor) are happier when they enter a seniors\u2019 home.<\/p>\n

He thinks I\u2019m trying to change his will.\u00a0 He thinks Aizlynn and I actually changed it.\u00a0 \u2026\u00a0 Uh \u2013 reality check here \u2013 how could we<\/em> change his will?\u00a0 Only with Power of Attorney could we do that, which we don\u2019t, didn\u2019t, and won\u2019t have.<\/p>\n

Laura stated in the truck that he thinks we (Aizlynn and I) a) are trying to take his house, b) are trying to put him in a home, c) have changed his will, and who knows what else.\u00a0 <sigh>\u00a0 I told Laura I was tired of saying one thing and having someone think the exact opposite.\u00a0 I said this, and I meant this, not that.\u00a0 Just such a strange idea \u2013 why?\u00a0 F###!\u00a0 Get over yourself and your beliefs.\u00a0 I don\u2019t give a rat\u2019s ass about who gets the house.\u00a0 I just want him to be happy, comfortable, and as healthy as he can be in the remaining time he\u2019s got left here \u2013 and<\/em>\u00a0to eventually die without hate in his heart.\u00a0 Enough of that.\u00a0 The world\u2019s full of that.\u00a0 Let\u2019s not have more of it.<\/p>\n

I have a stomach ache.\u00a0 Not from the food.\u00a0 I had it as I sat down.\u00a0 Probably nerves.<\/p>\n

Waiting for Lou to call.\u00a0 Also done my lunch.\u00a0 Very good.\u00a0 (See the picture.)\u00a0 Gotta go fix Laura\u2019s computer again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
